You can place a hold on a book that is signed out to another patron. To place a hold:
- Search for the book in the catalogue, and click on it.
- Scroll down to the yellow 'Sign in' bar:
- In the next screen, If you are SMU student or staff, click on that. If you are not, click on Other Users.
Sign in with your SMU email and password:
- Click ‘Sign In’*.
- The next screen will look similar to the first image above. Click 'Hold' to request the book.
- You will be asked to choose the pick up location from the drop down menu:
- Click 'Hold'.
You will get an email from the Library when the book is available to pick up.
*If you are having problems logging into the catalogue, please contact us by email: access@smu.ca
